Box Dye Colour Correction Using Malibu C + Full Head Foils

Updated: Aug 4

Today’s transformation was a restorative colour correction for a client who previously used box dye, which had left a heavy chemical coating on the hair due to high levels of silicone, parabens and sulfates from unsuitable at-home products.

We began the process with a Malibu C pigment removal, a gentle yet effective detoxifying treatment that lifts unwanted colour buildup without the harsh effects of traditional chemical strippers. This allowed us to start her blonde journey with care and precision. After a 45-minute processing time with Malibu C, we moved into a full head of foils, using a low-volume peroxide to protect the integrity of her hair while lifting. Once we achieved a clean lift, we performed a root shadow to create depth and a gloss toner on the ends for added softness and shine. The result after just one session: a beautifully blended, cooler blonde that exceeded expectations for a first-stage correction.

For Melbourne clients transitioning from box dye to blonde, we recommend two to three sessions to achieve optimal brightness and clarity, while maintaining hair health throughout. Our colour correction packages and blonde transformations are in high demand, and the response from our clients has been incredible. They love the value, the care, and the confidence they leave with. All our packages are available to view and book HERE. We are currently booked out for this week, with only a few appointments left next week. Located in the heart of Toorak, Elaine George Salon continues to welcome new and existing clients seeking professional, safe, and personalised hair services.
